Urania L. Thompson, 91, of Albert Lea, Minnesota and formerly of Northwood, died on Monday, July 1, 2002, at the St. John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.
Funeral services were held on Friday, at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, with Rev. Allan Stoa officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood.
Urania was born on September 12, 1910 in Sterling, Alberta, Canada, to George and Ada (Sumpter) Lockie.
She went to Cut Bank, Montana and Riceville, Iowa with her parents. She finished high school and started to teach in Howard County. Later she went to work in Mason City in a fabric store. At that time she met Ernest and later they were married.
They lived on a farm near Northwood for several years and then moved into town until his death on April 29, 1991. After his death she sold their home and moved to Knutson Place in Albert Lea. During June 1995, she became ill and moved into the St. John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Northwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; two children, Doris and James; one sister; and one brother.
Survivors include her brother, Charles Lockie of Dewey, Arizona; several grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Luella Thompson of Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Urania Lockie was born September 12, 1910 in Canada, the daughter of George Douglas Lockie and Ada Luella (Sumpter) Lockie. She married Ernest C. Thompson, the son of Ole M Thompson and Christina (Berg) Thompson.
Her parents, George and Ada Lockie and brother Douglas and sister Marion Lockie are buried in the Riverside, Riceville, Mitchell Co., Cemetery.
Her brother Charles mentioned in her obit died in 2007 and was buried in Osage Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
