DR. STEWARD OF RICEVILLE DIES
MAYOR SUCCUMBS TO ASTHMA,
HEART DISEASE; WIFE IS
SURVIVOR
Riceville, Dec. 10 – Dr. Ray Stewart, may of Riceville, died Monday morning at 6:30 o’clock from asthma and heart trouble. He had suffered for several years with asthma and had been spending winters in the west but had remained here this winter.
Dr. Stewart, who was about 40 years of age, is survived by his wife. They had no children.
He was a veterinarian surgeon her, having come from St. Ansgar. He was an orphan.
For several years, Dr. Stewart served as Mayor Riceville.

Ray Elliot Stewart was born in London, Freeborn Co., Minnesota, the son of Marvin William Stewart and Jeanette (Warrington) Stewart. His mother died 1902 and his father died in 1913.
He married Marjorie Mosher, the daughter of Lucian Mosher and Helen (Fellows) Mosher. Marjorie was born April 21, 1903 in Riceville and died April 19, 1980.
After the death of Ray Stewart, Marjorie married Ernest Anonson.
They are buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa
