Hold Services for
Mrs. Kittleson in
Carpenter Church

CARPENTER, IOWA — Funeral services for Mrs. Elon Kittleson, 44, were held Saturday in the First Lutheran church, the Rev. Olaf Langehough officiating.

She is survived by her husband and four stepsons, also five sons and two daughters. Burial was made at Woden.

Ida Kallem was born January 1897 in Humboldt County, Iowa, the daughter of Ludvig Kallen and Bertha (Iverson) Kallem.

Her parents were married July 12 1895 in Humboldt County. In 1898 the family moved to Thor, Humboldt Co., Iowa, where he opened a harness shop.

Ida Kallem married Lewis C. Nelson, the son of Hans Nelson and Celia Nelson. Lewis was born May 14, 1897 in Iowa and died January 21, 1935, leaving his widow and 7 children; Harriet, Bernard; Merle; Russell; Julian (a.k.a. Dean); Leon and Iris.

After the death of her 1st husband, Ida (Kallem) Nelson married Elon Kittleson, the son of Henry G. Kittleson and Virginia “Jennie” Thurston. Elon was born September 22, 1886 in Malta, Illinois (WWI draft record), and he died January 1963 (SS death record).

Elon’s first wife was Anna Olivia Hobbet, the daughter of Andrew and Johanna Hobbett.. In the 1925 Iowa Census, they were living in Bingham, Hancock Co., Iowa They had 4 sons; Kenneth; Harold; Glen and Paul Kittleson. (census records)
