(Died May 22, 2012)

Dale William Beyer, age 74, of Charles City and formerly of the Mitchell area, died Tuesday, May 22 2012, at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.

Dale was born November 11, 1937, in Mitchell County, Iowa, the son of George and Elfrieda (Hackbarth) Beyer. He graduated from Mitchell High School. Dale married Shirley Hutzell in 1959. In his early years, he worked as a caretaker at the Osage Cemetery. Dale was a big fan of Elvis Presley and enjoyed Christmas. He had a lot of love for his family and will be greatly missed.

Dale is survived by two daughters, Candace Beyer of St. Peter, Minnesota, Kim (Craig) Reed of Fairmont, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Blake Engelby, Dustin Schwebke, and Kristina Smith; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dennis (Judy) Beyer of Fredericksburg, Dean (Anola) Beyer of Mitchell, George (Kris) Beyer of Mitchell; and two sisters, Dallas (Glen) Heinzerling of Osage, and Delores Hucke of Ottertail, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Todd Beyer and Robin Engelby; one sister, Dorothy Clayton; and three brothers, Delbert, Darrell and Donald Beyer.
