Bertha Elizaberth Dorothea Louisa Lueders Schroeder was born March 13, 1881 in Reedsburg, Wis., the daughter of Fred and Caroline (Uphoff) Lueders. Then for 14 years they lived in Charles City, returning to live on the farm for a few years. In 1943 they retired to St. Ansgar. Here they had the privilege of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in 1953. Mr. Schroeder died in 1954. Mrs. Schroeder maintained her own home in St. Ansgar up to the time of her death, usually spending the winter months with her daughter in Lawrence, Kansas.
