BURIED AT SPRING
VALLEY SEPTEMBER 20Mrs. Almos Rexford passed on at her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Thursday, September 18, 1924. She had been ill for a little over a month.
Funeral services were conducted at the home on Friday, September 19, and burial took place at Spring Valley, Minnesota, her old home, on Saturday, September 20, 1924. Her busband, Almos Rexford, who passed on in 1915 and her daughter, Grace, who died many years ago, are also buried there.
Mrs. Rexford before her marriage to Mr. Rexford was Agnes Knowlton. She was born in the village of Knowlton, Broom county, Quebec, October 3, 1841. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hanson L. Knowlton, she came to Osage, Iowa, in the spring of 1865. She began teaching school in Canada before she was 14 years old, and was one of the pioneer school teachers of Mitchell county, Iowa, and Fillmore county, Minnesota.
She was married Almos Rexford, of Spring Valley, Minnesota, November 18, 1869. They resided on a farm near Spring Valley until moving to Minneapolis in 1892. Her only child, a daughter, Grace, passed on in 1893 at the age of 15. She leaves surviving her, one sister, Mrs. Emma A. Drake, who lived with her, and who, with her brother, Warren H. Knowlton, of Denver, Colorado, was with her at the last.
She also leaves a brother, George A. Knowlton, of Fort William Ontario, and Arthur E. Knowlton, of Brewster, Wash. A sister, Charlotte Knowlton-Lewis, and a brother, Willard Knowlton, predeceased her.
