Funeral services for Alton Potter, 70, of Riceville, Iowa, were held on Saturday, November 3, 1984 at the Saratoga Presbyterian Church in Saratoga. Rev. D. Coakley officiated at the service with burial in the Saratoga Cemetery. he died on Tuesday, October 30, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital following an illness.
Mr. Potter was a veteran of World War II and a farmer in the Riceville area.
Survivors include two sons, Charles and Ronald of Riceville; four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Paul Erma Carlson of West Chicago, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife Emma in 1982, his parents, one brother, Kenneth and two sisters, Gwen Jensen and Theodora Freudenberg.
