Burton Hogan, age 76, of Osage, Iowa, died at the White House Nursing Home of Osage, Saturday, September 29, 1984. Funeral services were held at Champion Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 2, 1984. Rev. J. Pittman, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Osage officiated, with burial in the Osage Cemetery with military rites by American Legiopn Post 278 and the VFW Post 7920, both of Osage.
Burton Wallace Hogan was born in Burr Oak on December 10, 1907. He was the son of William Daniel Hogan and Mary Esther Penney Hogan. He graduated from Osage High School and attended the University of Iowa. He was united in marriage to Helen Marie Lee in 1927. She passed away on October 1, 1951. He then married Eva Paulsen Gabby on July 15, 1954 and she passed away on June 12, 1982.
He served with the United States Army in World War II amd was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He was also a member of the Methodist Church in Osage. He had worked as a clothing salesman for many years, with Leuthold Clothing in Osage.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carmen (Madeline) Huset of Waunakee, Wisconsin; two sons, Marshall Lee and Burton Robert of Osage; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hannah Lincke and Gertrude Gelner, both of Osage.
He was preceded in death by his wives, parents and two brothers, Willard and Ralph.
