MRS. GEORGE EVANS

RICEVILLE — Services for Mrs. George Evans, 83, who died Saturday afternoon at the Riceville nursing home, will be p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church; burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Survived by four daughters: Mrs. John Stephens of Cameron, Missouri, Mrs. Jess Wentworth of Browndale, Minnesota; and Mrs. Elmer Larsen and Mrs. Harold Jones, both of LeRoy, Minnesota; and a son, Kenneth of Osage; Chisholm Funeral Home in charge.

RICEVILLE, IOWA — Mr. and Mrs. George Evans, Riceville, were honored on the 53rd anniversary of their marriage, as well as Mr. Evans 81st birthday, at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Jess Wentworth, Brownsdale, Minnesota

They also observed the birthdays of Dorothy Jones and Dorothy Wentworth, which will be on Tuesday. All the Evans' children were present as well as their 15 grandchildren.

George Evans and Eliza Playle were married July 18, 1908, in the Baptist parsonage in New Sharon. They farmed in the Mclntire area from 1912 until 1948 when they retired and moved to Riceville. Mr. Evans served as the assessor for Wayne Township for 19 years.

Their five children include Kenneth Evans, Riceville; Mrs. Lemer Larson and Mrs. Harold Jones, LeRoy, Minnesota, Mrs. Jess Wentworth, Brownsdale, and Mrs. John Stephens, Jesup.
