Carrie H. Rust was born September 30th, 1849 in Gols Parish, Hallingdal, Norway, and died at the home of her brother, November 17, 1906 aged 57 years and one month.

When but two and one half years old she with her parents and family, immigrated to America, residing in Rock Co. Wisconsin, one year. In 1853 they moved to St. Ansgar, Iowa which has been her home even since. Living with her parents on the old homestead, she grew into womanhood, and was their help and comfort in their old age and until their Great Summons called them to their Heavenly Home.

Since the spring of 1883, she has stayed with her brother Olavus Rust, having faithfully done the household duties, which made home more cheerful for him.

The last year her health has gradually failed and the past 14 week she has been confined to her bed, suffering with that dread disease cancer. But during all that time of sickness she appreciated the kindly efforts of relatives and friends; and the tender loving care of her sister. But above all she was sustained and comforted by her Heavenly Father, in whom she trusted.

The funeral services were conducted by her Pastor, Rev. M.E. Waldeland, at the N.L. church. The beautiful floral tributes which were laid on her bier, showed the love and esteem in which she was held and by all who knew her. The remains were laid to rest in the N.L. Cemetery.

Card of Thanks
We wish hereby to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who kindly aided and comforted us during the long sickness and after the death of our beloved sister, Carrie.
