Joseph Sweeney, 74, of McIntire, died Monday, July 23, 1984, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at St. Mel's Catholic Church, McIntire, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Riceville.
A rosary was said at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon with a scripture service at 8 p.m., both at the funeral home.
Mr. Sweeney was a retired laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Viola of McIntire; two sons, Pat of McIntire, and Larry, Stewartville, Minnesota; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Kay) Kelly, Urbandale, and nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Pencook, Miss Arlene Sweeney and Mrs. Helen Balster, all of Cedar Rapids, and three brothers, Frank, Jim and Jerry, also all of Cedar Rapids.
