Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 12, 1984, at Sacred heart Catholic Church in Osage, for Oscar Meitner, 85, of Osage. He died on Monday, July 9, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Rev. J.P. Andree and Rev. J. Smith officiated, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage.
Oscar Meitner was born on March 20, 1898 in Watertown, Wisconsin; the son of Frank and Anna Schwab Meitner. He moved to the Osage area in 1927 and on February 22, 1927 he was united in marriage to Anna Popp at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage.
He farmed until retiring to Osage in 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Voight, Osage and Mrs. Mel (Darlene) Elliott of Storm Lake; two sons, Leo of Osage and Gerald of St. Ansgar; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Haberkorn and Mrs. Leona Richter, both of Watertown, Wisconsin, and one brother, Arthur of Watertown, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
