Funeral services for Mrs. Rudy (Dixie Lee) Schroeder, 53, of Osage, were held on Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa. Rev. J. Nesheim officiated at the service, and burial was in the Osage City Cemetery. She died on Tuesday, June 26, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.
Champion Funeral Home, Osage, was in charge of arrangements.
Dixie Lee Ketelsen was born July 13, 1930 in Osage to Elmer and Gladys Ketelsen. She attended Burr Oak Township schools, Osage High School and Luther College in Decorah. She taught in the Burr Oak Township rural schools for eight years.
On June 26, 1955 she was united in marriage to Rudolph E. Schroeder. They lived on farms near Osage before moving to Osage. Mrs Schroeder was active in 4-H and in all sports. She was a school bus driver for the Osage Community schools for 16 years.
She was a lifetime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and a member of the church circles.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sherri Leah.
Survivors include her husband, Rudy; one daughter, Kristie of Davenport; two sons, William and David, both of Osage; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Ketelsen of Osage; one sister, Mrs. LaVerne (Daisie) Olsen of Osage and two brothers, Dean Ketelsen of Osage and Dale Ketelsen of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

#2:Dixie Lee Ketelsen was born July 13, 1930 at the Nissen Hospital, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa to Elmer August Ketelsen and Gladys Ivey Olsen, the oldest of their four children.
Found in the 1940 census living at Burr Oak, Mitchell, Iowa: Elmer A Ketelsen 30, Gladys I Ketelsen 33, Dixie Lee Ketelsen 9, Daisy Ann Ketelsen 8, Dean E Ketelsen 7, Dale G Ketelsen 4.
Dixie married Rudolph Edward Schroeder on June 26, 1955 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had 4 children (oldest daughter, Sheri Leah is deceased).
They celebrated their 25th anniversary on June 26, 1980. When Dixie became ill, she began a battle with liver cancer. She lost the battle on June 26th, 1884 at 3:50 p.m. She had reached the age of 53 years, 11 months, and 14 days.
Dixie Lee Ketelsen Schroeder died June 26, 1984 at Osage, Iowa and is buried at the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Iowa.
