Funeral services were held for Thomas P. Lenz, 93, on Saturday, June 23, 1984, at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar. He died Wednesday, June 20, 1984, at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. Rev. T. Woodin of Cresco officiated, with burial in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

Thomas P. Lenz was born on May 10, 1891 in Battle Creek. He moved to the North Iowa area when he was a young man. He served in the Army in World War I, spending time in France. He was united in marriage to Bessie May on February 26, 1921.

Mr. Lenz operated a garage in Otanto for many years. They moved to St. Ansgar in 1949 where they did truck farming until their retirement.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Don (Marlese) Redrichs of Rantoul, Illinois, and Mrs. Al (Bonnie) Gemaehlich of Mason City; three sons: Thomas D. of Houston, Texas; Roger D. of Riceville, and Dick Lenz of Hutchinson, Minnesota; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leone Dockstoder of Orange, Calif., and Bess Kilgore of San Bernardino, Calif., and four brothers: Harry of Lyle, Minnesota, Clarence of Harmony, Minnesota, Jack of Eagle Nest, New Mexico, and Dale of Rolfe.
