Funeral services for Mary Arno, 90, of Osage, were held on Friday, June 8, 1984, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage. She died on Tuesday, June 5, 1984, at the White House Nursing home. Rev. Paul Metzger officiated at the services with burial in the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, rural Osage.

Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marie Mary Arno was born on September 8, 1893 in Norman County, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Kari Blockhus. At an early age, she moved with her parents to Clayton County, Iowa, and attended the local schools. She was confirmed at East Clermont Lutheran Church.

She was united in marriage to Knut Arno of Mitchell County, on February 20, 1918 and was a resident of the Osage vicinity the rest of her life.

She is survived by three grandchildren: Daryl Sprung of Des Moines, Donald Sprung of McIntire and Georgene Sprung of Gilman; two great-grandchildren, Stacy and Melissa Sprung of McIntire; one sister, Clara Eidness of Osage; three sisters-in-law: Helen T. Blockhus of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Knut; her daughter Muriel Sprung and her parents; three brothers and one sister.
