Note: According to the obituary Mari was born in Gol - Gol was at this time a part of Nes parish.
She was married in Gol 12th April 1849 to Ole Tollefsen Roe.

Tove DJ]OBITUARY BY ONE OF HER RELATIVES
Last Friday witnessed the passing of one of the oldest residents of this community, Mrs. Mari T. Roe was called to her Heavenly home. Mrs. Roe had been in good health until about three months preceding her death, when her strength began to fail, and it was seen that the industrious life that she had lived was soon to be ended.
Mari T. Roe, daughter of Peder and _______Goldberg, was born July 12, 1830 in Gol, Hallingdal, Norway, and died November 17, 1922, at her home in St. Ansgar, Iowa. At the time of her death, Mrs. Roe was 92 years, 4 months and 5 days old.
The deceased was baptized November __, 1930 and confirmed on July 6, 1845 in the Lutheran faith. She was ever a devout Christian living an upright and honest life.
In 1849, the deceased was married to T. Roe, at Gol, Hallingdol, Norway. This union was blessed with ______children, of whom six survive; Peter Roe, Mrs. Tollefson, Mrs. Magnusen, and Mrs. Havig, all of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Mrs. Tuff and Mrs. Evans of Minnesota. Her husband preceded her in death, passing away on the Roe farm west of St. Ansgar on March 31, 1881.
With her husband and six children they left Norway for this country April 9, 1867. They arrived in Fillmore county, Minnesoata, on June 9 where they lived for about a year before they moved to Mitchell county where Mrs. Roe has lived since. The family lived on a farm west of St. Ansgar until 1896, when Mrs. Roe moved to St. Ansgar, where she spent the remaining years of her life.
Her life was one filled with cheerfulness. Her daughter, Mrs. Magnusen lived with the deceased for the last few years doing all in her power to make her mother's declining years a comfort.
The funeral was held Tuesday at the First Lutheran CHurch, the sevices being conducted by Rev. M.E. Waldeland and remains were laid to rest in the Norwegian cemetery.
