Funeral services for Helen Braun, 81, of Northwood, Iowa, were Thursday, October 11, 1984, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. Rev. H. Peterson officiated with burial at the Grafton Cemetery. She died on Monday, October 8, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage.
Helen Rademaker was born on July 7, 1903 at Iowa Falls, to John and Anna (Einhousen) Rademaker. They moved to Worth County near Grafton in 1913. She went to school in Iowa Falls and Grafton.
On March 11, 1922, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Braun in Grafton. They were members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in grafton and lived on different farms in the Grafton area. Mr. Braun died on June 19, 1975. Since then Helen had been living with two of her sons, Wayne and Gary, near Northwood.
Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Harold (Ann) Nicholson of Manly, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Ballantyne of Mason City, Mrs. James (Melba) Marker of Northwood, Mrs. Wally (Phyllis) Phelps of Iowa City and Mrs. Phil (Jean) Thune of Manly; six sons: Wilfred of Otranto, Lawrence of LeRoy, Minnesota, and Wayne, Raymond, Dale, and Gary, all of Northwood; 29 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and four children, Kenneth, Marcella, Carol and Gloria.
