Joan Marie (Bodenham) Morris – August 10, 1929 – September 2, 1998

TUCSON, Ariz. — Joan Marie Bodenham Morris, 69, formerly of Riceville, died on Sept. 2, 1998, in Tucson, following an illness of several months.
She is to be buried in Riceville at a later date.
Memorials may be sent to the National Museum of Women in the Arts, 1250 New York Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20005-3920.
Joan was born in Riceville, the daughter of Nina (Mosher) and John E. "Ted" Bodenham.
She was educated in Riceville and attended and graduated from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. She was primarily a homemaker but also held several positions in teaching, editing and dental research.
As a young woman, she was an accomplished athlete. Later she enjoyed nature, literature, cooking and travel. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh; a daughter, Amy; and two sons, Scott and his wife, Lisa; and Dirk and his wife, Suzanne; and two grandchildren, Kinsey and Cody.
She was preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Fred; and her grandparents.
