HORICON, WISCONSIN - Mrs. Katherine Leichtle passed away at the Hinsdale, Illinois sanitarium on Thursday, January 22, 1942, following an illness of 10 days.

Katherine Buhr was born on March 14, 1880, at Stacyville Iowa. She was married to John Leichtle at Theresa, Wisconsin, 39 years ago and spent the greater part of her life in Dodge County, Wisconsin, and as a resident of this city (Horicon, Wisconsin).

Mrs. Leichtle was visiting at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Simon at La Grange, Illinois, when she became ill with influenza. Her condition became serious with a diabetic complication and she was removed to the Hinsdale sanitarium on last Monday, where she died the following Thursday, January 22, 1942.

The remains were brought to the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Ulrich, in this city. Services were conducted at St. Malachy's Catholic church, Monday morning, with burial in St. Malachy's cemetery. The Rev. Fr. Garvey reading the mass.

Survivors include her six sons: Ervin, of this city, Raymond, of Milwaukee, Clarence of Mayville, Earl of Beaver Dam, Harvey of Culver City, California, Rueben, with the U.S. army in Hawaii; four daughters, Florence (Mrs. Gilbert Drosner) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Alice (Mrs. Tom Lees) of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, Esther (Mrs. Lawrence Simon) of La Grange, Illinois, Pearl (Mrs. Frederic Ulrich) of this city.

Two children preceded their mother in death, her son Lester and daughter, Lorraine.

Pallbearers were her girlhood acquaintances, Frank Bodden, Henry Bodden, Ed Bodden, Hubert Bodden, Joe Kohl, Lambert Newberg. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were her three brothers: Hubert Buhr, Leo Buhr and Rudolph Buhr, of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Poseley of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Paul Bucken of Montello, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Jay McDonald, So. Byron, Wisconsin, Mrs. Anna Bodden, Mrs. Fred Wendt and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Leichtle, of Theresa, Wisconsin; Mrs. Gertie Leichtle and family, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
