Obituary-Cornwell

#1:

Mabelle Dugan Cornwell was born at Mankato, Minn., May 14, 1889, being nearly 28 years old at the time of her decease on Monday, April 9, 1917 in Osage.

A few years of her childhood were spent in St. Paul and the greater part of her life was passed in Osage, where her home had been for nearly eighteen years. She was united in marriage with Leslie F. Cornwell of Osage on the 6th of August, 1914, and she was taken from us after so brief a married life.

She united with the Baptist church of Osage April 13, 1905. She had been an active helper as a Sunday school teacher and in various enterprises of the young ladies of the church. She was much esteemed for her cheerful willingness and her genuine devotion. It is hard to lose so young and promising a life, yet we are grateful to our Heavenly Father for the comfort of a memory of so much that was beautiful in her character.

Among the relatives she leaves may be mentioned, besides the bereaved husbnd, an only sister, Mrrs. Blanche Broas, of Eagle Lake, Minn., her grandmother, Mrs. A. C. Buck of Pillager, Minnesota, and her devoted aunt and uncle in Osage, Mr. and Mrs J. R. Willson. Together with these are a great company of friends who feel keenly the loss and desire to extend sympathy to the stricken hearts of those nearest to her.

The funeral occurred from the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon in charge of the pastor, Rev. Rolla E. Brown, and burial was in the Osage cemetery.
