Obituary-Wayne
January 13, 1857 - April 11, 1917
Isaac L. Wayne, son of Milton G. and Berthena Jennings, was born January 13, 1857, in Crawford County, Wis. He with his parents moved to Fayette county, Iowa, and when he was between 12 and 13 years old his mother died and he and his father went back to Wisconsin. In the year 1878 he was married to Elnora Johnston. To this union were born six children, three of whom have passed on before: Walter A., Millicent E. and Francis A.
Mr. Wayne and family moved to Mitchell county, Iowa in the spring of 1893, and to Osage in 1907. They lived here five years, where, the most of this time he was engaged in the dray buisness. In the spring of 1913 they moved to McIntire, and a little over a year ago he was sick with la grippe, from which he never fully recovered. He came to Osage October 18 for medical treatment and he was never able to return to his home in McIntire.
Mr. Wayne united with the Baptist church of Osage in 1908 and a member of that church until his decease. He was a good, kind man, a kind husband and father and will be missed by a large circle of friends. He passed away at the home of Fred Hammond in Osage on April 11.
Besides his wife, he leaves three children: Aarl O., of Los Angeles, Cal.; Bertha, of Waterloo, and Claude of Osage.
The funeral occurred from the home of Mr. Hammond on Friday afternoon in charge of Rev. Rolla E. Brown, pastor of the First Baptist church and interment was in the Osage cemetery.
