Funeral services for Gayle Marie Walker were held at 1 p.m. on May 17, 1991 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Riceville with the Reverend Robert Pfeil officiating. Mrs. Walker passed away Wednesday, May 15 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage at the age of 74 years.

Gayle was born October 25, 1916 in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sage. In 1955, she moved to the Riceville area from Tripoli, Iowa. On January 21, 1941, she was united in marriage to Clarence Walker and to this union six children were born. She was employed as a nurses aide and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Riceville.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence, Riceville; four daughters: Mrs. Ron Torney, Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Jack Fobbs**, Osage, Iowa; Mrs. Fred Koschmeder, Jr., Riceville, Iowa; Mrs. Leland Tonn, Britt, Iowa; two sons, Robert, Mason City, Iowa and Michael, Tuscumbia, Missouri; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren.

Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery with the Conway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

NOTES:

**Her husband's obituary gives her name as Nancy Dobbs, but the Riceville library document for Gayle Walker did spell it Fobbs.

Her husband's obit says "he" is buried at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Riceville. It also has a different maiden name for Gayle.
