Services Held for Martin Ackerman, 71

Funeral services for Martin H. Ackerman, 71, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 20th at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville. Mr. Ackerman passed away early Sunday morning, October 18, 1981, at the Howard County Hospital in Cresco. Officiant was Pastor John Gilbert.

Mr. Ackerman, who had been ill for several years, was born June 29, 1910 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Edward and Susan Ackerman. He came to this area when he was nine years of age.

In September, 1939, he was United in marriage and Mary Elizabeth Condon, and to this union, two children were born.

He is survived by a son, Edward, Grand Meadow, Minnesota; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Delores) Reich, Randolph, Minnesota; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lavina Banks, Lime Springs and Mrs. Glen (Grace) Dann of Mesa, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in April, 1968; and two brothers, Richard and Glen.

Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville with Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
