Adolph Amundson was born January 8, 1883 at Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Ammund Ammundson and Dorthe Framstad. Adolph was baptized March 23, 1883 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Mr and Mrs Borger Flatla; Knud Paulsen and Randi Pedersen. Adolph was confirmed on June 13, 1897 also at Rock Creek Lutheran.
Adolph married Gustava Elise Erickson on December 7, 1910 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple raised 5 children: Alvin Julius, Hilmar Delvin, Marian Louise, Alice Norlaine and Vernon Galen.
Adolph worked as a laborer and as a farmer. He died June 5, 1956 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. Burial was at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
Found Adolph in the 1900, 1910, 1915 and 1925 censuses living at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa:
1900: Dorta Amundson 47, Carrie Amundson 20, Adolph Amundson 17, Peter Amundson 14, Nora Nelson 2/12.
1901 - Osage, Iowa newspaper reports that Adolph is hauling stone and sand for a new barn that will be built in the spring.
1910: Peter Amundson 24, Carrie Amundson 31, Adolph Amundson 27, Dora Amundson 57, Nora Nelson 10.
1925: Adolphe Amundson 42, Isom Agutta Amundson 32, Alyce Amundson 5.
Found in the 1920 census at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa: Adolph Amunson 37, Gusta Amunson 28, Alvin Amunson 7, Hilmen Amunson 5, Marian Amunson 2[2 6/12], Alice Amunson 5 months.
Found in the 1930 census at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Adolph Amundson 47, Gustie E. Amundson 38, Marian L. Amundson 12, Alice N. Amundson 10, Vernon G. Amundson 3 5/12.
March, 1932, he moved his family to Osage, Iowa.
