CARPENTER, IOWA - Steven Richard Blood, 62, of Carpenter died on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will be in the Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle, Minn.

CARPENTER, IOWA - Steven Richard Blood, 62, of Carpenter, died on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with thr Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will be in the Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle, Minn. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
Steven was born on June 4, 1949, in Hampton, to Richard and Helen (Allison) Blood. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School. He worked in Alaska from 1975 to 1991 as a gold miner, after which he worked for Carroll George, Northwood, for eight years. He married Dolores Gora Brandt on Oct. 24, 1992 in Clear Lake. Steve enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, cooking and visiting family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen Blood.
Steve is survived by his wife, Dolores of Carpenter; son Todd (Karen) Blood of Holmen, Wisconsin; step-son, Jason (Tasha) Brandt of Eureka, Kansas; one grandchild, Morgan Blood; five step-grandchildren, Jase, Kassidy, Krystayl, Reis, Rayna Brandt; a sister, Nancy (Jim) Ackels of Tucson, Arizona; nephew, Ryan and niece Missy.
