Lake City, Minn. Funeral services for Emil C. Freiheit, 86, Rochester, a former Lake City resident, were held Saturday at the united Methodist Church, Rochester. The Rev. Robert Painter officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester. He died of cancer Thursday at Rochester Methodist Hospital following a year long illness.
Pallbearers were four grandsons, Dennis Issendorf and Larry LaVerne and Lee Freiheit and two nephews, Duane and Darrell Freiheit.
A native and long- time resident of the Oak Center area, he was born in Chester township, Wabasha County, July 5, 1888, to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Freiheit.
He married Alice Krinke September 4, 1912, in Lake City. She died October 15, 1956.
He married Frankie Rainey August 4, 1959, at Charles City, Floyd, Iowa. He farmed in Chester Township, rural Lake City, until 1947. For the past 15 years he lived in Rochester and was night clerk at the Norton Hotel.
Survivors are; his wife, three sons; the Rev. Floyd Freiheit, Elmira, New York; Louis, Princeton Minnesota; and Forrest, Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters; Mrs. Dorothy Crow, Duncan, Arizona; and Mrs. Dallas (Hazel) Issendorf, Lake City; 13 grandchildren.

Emil C. Freiheit’s 2nd wife was Frankie Culmsee Colbertson, the daughter of George Nicholas Colbertson and Ann Margaret (Culmsee) Colbertson.
Frankie’s first husband was Edward Roy Rainey born April 12, 1896.
Frankie and her parents and her son Donald Rainey are buried in First Lutheran Cemetery, Saint Ansgar, Mitchell Co., Iowa
