Mildred Bilharz, 88, formerly of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, westoaksfuneralhome.com.

Mildred was born on Sept. 27, 1920. She was united in marriage to Clair Bilharz and to this union nine children were born.

Mildred was survived by her nine children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nettie Altenburg; her husband, Clair; and her grandson, Ronald Bilharz, Jr.

Mildred was born in Charles City, Floyd, Iowa, the daughter of Fred William Altenburg and Nettie (Hartman) Altenburg.

She married Clair Gilmore Bilharz, the son of Louis Victor Bilharz and Irma Gladys (Hoisington) Bilharz.

Clair Bilharz was born November 5, 1918 in Mitchell County, Iowa and died March 23, 1992 in Sulpher Springs, Texas

She and Clair are buried in the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Sulpher Springs, Hopkins Co., Texas
