3-YEAR-OLD SON OF
ERNEST MEISTER'S
CHOKED TO DEATHIrving Lester, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Meister, died Saturday by choking to death. The little fellow was eating supper when a piece of beet pickle lodged in his windpipe. The parents summoned a doctor at once, and made frantic efforts to dislodge the obstruction, but he passed away before a physician could reach the home.
The child was born in Mitchell County and was three years, eight months and 14 days of age. He was a bright attractive boy, and all feel that he had a very promising future. The case is a sad one and the sympathy of the Meisters' many friends in the community is extended to them, and the five little brothers and sisters who survive.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the German Church in Rock Township, and burial made in the cemetery adjoining.

NOTES:
The obituary is in error in several ways. His tombstone says his name is ERWIN not Irving.
He is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Township, not in a cemetery in Rock township.
There is a "German Church" in Rock township and a "German Church" in Cedar township, both named St. John's Lutheran. Neither have an "adjoining cemetery." However, St. John's Lutheran church in Cedar township is associated with Calvary cemetery, where Erwin IS buried. That cemetery is about a mile east of the church.See photo of his tombstone on Iowa GPP.
