Mabel Christina Miller was born at Geosz Solt, Germany, February 6, 1867 and died at St. Ansgar, Iowa, May 23, 1905, age 38 years, 8 months and 17 days. Her ill health covered a period of five years although she was able to be up until a few hours before her death.
When she was eight years of age she with her parents imigrated to America, coming directly to St. Ansgar. In her early teens she was confirmed in the German Lutheran church at this place. In 1867 she was united in marriage to Mr. Peter P. Pierson. They resided in Osage until 1895 when they came to St. Ansgar which has since been their home. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one son, Carl, one daughter, Matie, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Miller, three brothers, Nick, August and Emil, one sister, Mrs. Chris Hansen. The funeral was held at the residence May 25th, conducted by Rev. Waldeland and her remains laid to rest in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
