The remains of Mrs. Nels K. Pederson were brought here from Chicago for burial Saturday. She died in Chicago on Thursday of pneumonia after an illness of only a week.

The remains were accompanied by Mr. Pederson and his youngest son, and Mr. Pederson’s brother Oscar.

The Pederson family were well known here and lived on the Iver Knudson place south of town before they went to Glenwood, Minnesota, some eight years ago. For more than two years Mr. Pederson has been working at his trade of wood carver in a furniture factory in Chicago and this year has been there still longer, being a polisher in the Wrigley building.

The four older children of the Pederson family were not in Chicago. Anna, now Mrs. Bennie Pederson lives at Verges, Minnesota and she and her husband and her brother Svend, who makes his home with them, were here for the funeral. Two other daughters, Mrs. Oscar Olson and Gerda and the former’s husband were here from their home in Maddock, North Dakota.

Mrs. Pederson’s sister, Mrs. Carson Shepley and her husband of Floyd were also here for the funeral and Ed Shepley and family from the same place and a number from Osage.

Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Pederson contemplate moving to Chicago and making a home for her father and nine year old brother.

THE OBITUARY OF MRS. NILS PEDERSON (by Mr. Pederson)

Petra Lunde Pederson was born on November 1, 1876, in Gulbransdalen, Norway, and died March 12, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 48 years, 4 months, and 11 days.

At the age of four she immigrated to the United States with her parents, Anna and Sven Lunde, and settled on a farm near Osage, Iowa. Here she spent her girlhood days and was confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church by Pastor Olson.

On Septemer 27, 1897, she was united in marriage to Nils K. Pederson. This union was blessed with nine children, four of whom died in infancy. The family lived on a farm near St. Ansgar for fourteen years. In 1916 they moved to Glenwood, Minnesota, and in 1923 to Chicago, Illinois.

She was a true and faithful wife, a kind and loving mother, always sacrificing for the welfare of others and was loved by all who knew her. She was educated in the Lutheran faith and always lived a true Christian life.

She leaves to mourn her loss a kind and loving husband, five children and two grandchildren, her mother, one sister, two brothers, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral took place at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, on Monday, March 16, the Rev. M.E. Waldeland officiating, and her remains were laid to rest at the River View Cemetery south of St. Ansgar.

Card of Thanks

To our relatives and many friends who have shown such whole-hearted sympathy with us in our bereavement, we extend our most heartfelt thanks.
