ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Clyde Schotanus, 91, of St. Ansgar, died on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Society.

Clyde Schotanus

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Clyde Schotanus, 91, of St. Ansgar, died on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Society. Private family service will be held at a later date.

Clyde was born on February 25, 1920, to Jacob and Sietske (Steenstra) Schotanus in Deinum, Holland. He married Marion, and to this union four children were born. Clyde later married Louise after the death of Marion. He farmed his entire life. Clyde was a musician, playing in various bands for over 60 years as an accordianist and organist. He enjoyed auctions and the buying and selling of items.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; son Dwight; brother, Gerald; sister, Laura Helm.

He is survived by one son, David of Plymouth; two daughters, Connie Owens of Simi Valley, Calif. and Mickey Shuler of Rudd; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Schotanus, Osage.
