Leonard Raymond Larson, 78, of Carpenter, died on Wednesday, July 16, 1986, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 19, 1986, at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter. Rev. E.C. Franke officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Larson was born on January 7, 1908, near Meltonville, to Christian Larson and Kate Kilgore Larson. He was married on February 5, 1930, to Dorothy Collins of Worth County.
He was a retired Phillips 66 oil dealer in Carpenter, a member of the Land of Four Seasons Tourism Council, past vice-president of the Mitchell County Historical Society and custodian of Fort Severson, near Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; one son, Roger of Swaledale; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Carolyn) Davis, Kensett; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Earl (Gladys) Cooper, Carpenter; and an uncle, sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Irving D. Larson, and one grandchild, Marsha Ann Larson.
