Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 26, 1986, at the Hage Funeral Home in Charles City for Sheldon William Ploeger, 53, of 107 Central Ave., Charles City, Iowa. Mr. Ploeger died on Monday, June 23, 1986 at the Charles City hospital following a lengthy illness. Rev. Paul Mork officiated, and burial was in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City.

He was born on July 17, 1932 to Sheldon and Faye (Miller) Ploeger. He received his education in the Orchard schools. On August 23, 1953, he married Darlene Hackbarth at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charles City. He worked as a journeyman machinist for the former White Farm Company and farmed in the Floyd area.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Charles City.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Charles City; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Kathy) Sargent of Osage and Mrs. Rex (Karen) Schilling of Charles City; one son, Michael of Des Moines; his mother, Mrs. Arnold (Faye) Hill of Charles City; two brothers, Sherman of Ankeny and Sharron of Charles City; and seven grandchildren.
