Memorial services were held on Friday, May 9, 1986 for Selma T. Sorlien, 84, at First Lutheran Church in Decorah, and burial was in Hesper Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Paul Christianson and Pastor Paul Sorlien officiated. Mrs. Sorlien died on Monday, May 5, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Survivors include two sons, John of Portland, Oregon, and Rev. Paul Sorlien of Bird Island, Minnesota; five daughters, Naomi Jasmer of Willmar, Minnesota, Grace Johnson of St. Ansgar, Ruth Larson of Austin, Minnesota, Lois Fossen of Long Lake, Minnesota, and Eunice Chomicz of Chicago; 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
