FUNERAL TO BE MONDAY FOR MRS. LINA HUME, 78

Charles City – Funeral services will be held at the Grossmann Chapel Monday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, for Mrs. Lina Hume, 78, who died at her home, 91 Riverside Drive, Friday following an illness of 10 months. The Rev. Walter M. Fritschel, pastor of the St. John’s Lutheran Church will officiate and interment will be in a cemetery at Mcintire.

Mrs. Hume was born in Norway and came to this country as a small child and was left an orphan by the death of her parents when she was 10 years old.

She was married to Alexander Hume in 1885 and lived near Charles City for 29 years.

Two sons, Leroy and Robert were born. Her husband died 12 years ago and her son, Leroy, was killed in an auto accident in 1941.

She is survived by one son, Robert, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was buried in the Wayne Cemetery, Mitchell, Iowa.

Tombstone reads: Lina Hume 1865-1943 and Alexander Hume 1855-1932.
