HOLD FUNERAL SUNDAY FOR MRS. MYRTLE GALLUP

Osage – Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Myrtle Brown Gallup at Shellady’s Funeral Home. The Re. Stiles Lessly officiated. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Mrs. Gallup was born Myrtle Brown, the youngest daughter of Charles D. and Eliner Ann Brown, at Dubuque, May 28, 1867. Here she spent her girlhood.

In 1888, she married Oscar E. Gallup, several years after the death of his first wife, her older sister, Alda Brown Gallup. She was a most devoted mother to the daughter of the first marriage. Her husband died 13 months ago.

In recent years, Mrs. Gallup had been a semi-invalid and submitted to a major operation a short time ago at Mason City which she never recovered. She died at the home of her daughter at Tampa, Florida December 7th.

She leaves a daughter, a grandson, Russell D. Gist, of the army; a sister; Mrs. B. H. Pettit of Verndale, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
