STACYVILLE, IOWA -- Last Sunday morning Rev. Hale was called to preach the funeral sermon over the remains of Mrs. W. M. Allen, mother of Mr. John Mussetter, of Little Cedar. The service was held at the M.E. church at Little Cedar, and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery near that place.
Sarah H. Huffman was born in Clinton county, Ohio, October 18, 1828. She was married there to Lillburn W. Mussetter December 24, 1846. They moved to Louis county, Missouri to make their home. To them were born ten children, seven of whom yet survive. Mr. Mussetter was a Union soldier and was killed in May 1863.
In '65, Mrs. Mussetter married R. G. Lamb and to this union three sons were born.
She was married a third time to W. M. Allen in 1886, and since Mr. Allen's death in 1895, she has made her home with her children. Her death occured from Bright's disease Nov. 28, at the home of her son at St. Paul. Mrs. Allen was of the universal faith. The many friends of the Musseter family at Little Cedar sympathize with them in the sorrow caused by the death of this good mother.
