Funeral Services Held for Charles Harcourt Friday, July 19, 1940
Funeral Services were held Friday July 19, at the Patterson Funeral Home in Mason City, for Charles T. Harcourt, age 71, who died at the Park hospital at 7 o'clock Tuesday night July 18, following an illness of about four weeks, He had been at the hospital nine days.Mr. Harcourt was born June 9, 1869 in Indiana, the son of Theodore and Nancy Snow Harcourt, He was married to Miss Nellie Jones and to this union were born two sons and five daughters, William Harcourt, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc.; E.V. Harcourt, St. Paul, Minn.: Mrs. L.J. Munson, Baldwin Park, Cal.: Mrs. Dell S. Blake, Spencer, Iowa: Mrs. Lee Prothers, Minneapolis, Minn: Mrs. L.A. Block, Davenport, Iowa: Mrs. Veron Anderson, Esterville, Iowa.
For the past 22 years Mr. Harcourt has farmed five miles southwest of St. Ansgar. He was a member of the Rock Creek Lutheran church.
Mr. Harcourt was preceded in death by his wife in 1914. In 1918 he married Mrs. Margaret Feldt, who survives him. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. William Dawson, Broad Ripple, Ind. and one brother Sam, Erie , Penn. and seven children, 15 and four great grandchildren.
Eight step-children, Mrs Walte Gutman, Randall, Minn.: Clarence Feldt and Laura Holmes, Chicago; Lawrence and Edward Feldt and Alice Ellingson, Carpenter and Willard Feldt at home also survive him.Rev Ferd Ide, pastor of the Rock Creek Lutheran church was in charge if the services. Interment was at the cemetery at Esterville where he formerly lived.
Mrs. E.L. Dreher, Carpenter sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "In the Garden" at the service
