Death has again spread its mantle of gloom over our entire town, by taking from our midst our old and esteemed citizen, R. Helfritz, who expired last Wednesday afternoon, at about 5 o'clock, after a short but severe illness.
Mr. Helfritz was one of our oldest citizens and business men, having lived in this county fourteen years. He was in the 52nd year of his life, at the time of his death, and leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss.
The funeral services were held in the M.E. church, last Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, Rev. Pye officiating. A large concourse of sympathizing friends were present, to pay a parting tribute to the dead and assist in the last sad rites.
The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their hour of sorrow.
