Fred Seidel

April 24, 1893 - January 22, 1977

Funeral services for Fred Seidel, 84, were conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Riceville, with the officiant being Vicar C. Keeler. Mr. Seidel passed away on Saturday, January 22, 1977, at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

Mr. Seidel was born on April 24, 1892 in Clayton county, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Alvina Seidel. He came to the Riceville area in 1939.

On December 28, 1915, he married Selma Lenth, and to the union four children were born. He was a farmer by occupation.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marreld (Berniece) King, McIntire and Mrs. Arnold (Milda) Heyden, Plymouth; and one son, Harold, Lime Springs; a sister, Mrs. Angeline Stocker, Mason City; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Selma, on May 7, 1952; a son, Delbert, in 1948; his parents and a sister, Sylvia.

Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Riceville, with the Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
