HOLD FUNERAL TUESDAY FOR CRESCO WOMAN, 72

Cresco – Mrs. Emma Barth Gulliver, 72, died at Mercy Hospital Sunday after several months’ illness. She was the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Barth who moved here from Preston, Minnesota, when she was 4 years old. She was born at Preston.

After attending public school here she was employed as a dressmaker and for 5 years worked as news reporter for her brother, L. P. Barth on the Howard County Times.

On October 26, 1933, she was married to William H. Gulliver of Osage. After 5 years residence there, Mrs. Gulliver returned to Cresco where she since lived.

Funeral services were to be held Tuesday morning at the Bradley Funeral Home, the Rev. E. F. Byers, pastor of the Congregational Church officiating. Burial was to be in New Oregon Cemetery south of Cresco.

She is survived by Mr. Gulliver of Osage, a sister; Mrs. Mary Nichols; and 2 brothers; George and L.P. Barth, all of Cresco.

Emma Elizabeth Barth was born February 22, 1873 in Preston, Fillmore Co., Minnesota, the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (White) Barth. She married William Henry Gulliver, the son of George and Margaret Gulliver.
