Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 5, 1986, at Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Charles "Mike" Holmquist, 63, formerly of Osage, and now of Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Holmquist died on Saturday, March 1, 1986, at an Iowa City hospital. The Rev. Dennis Hanson of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiated and burial was in the Osage Cemetery with military rites conducted by Osage VFW Post 7920.

Mr. Holmquist was a former carpenter and painter in the Osage area. He was born on July 3, 1922 at Milbank, South Dakota, to August and Hannah (Weckworth) Holmquist. He was a veteran of World War II and has lived in Cedar Rapids for the past 12 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hilda; and one brother, Harlan.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. John (Alice) Bakkum of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Geraldine Halvorson of Ortonville, Minnesota, and Mrs. Mildred Hoberg of Waseca, Minnesota; and a brother, August, Jr. of Ortonville, Minnesota.
