RITES HELD FOR TIMMERMAN, 40
RICEVILLE VETERAN DIED 2 YEARS AFTER ACCIDENT WITH TRUCK

Riceville, May 1 – John Timmerman, 40, who died at Hines Veteran Hospital in Chicago Saturday morning, was buried after rites at his home in Riceville Monday afternoon, interment, being made in Riverside Cemetery.

He leaves besides the widow two children, Dorothy, 13 and Dale, 8.

Mr. Timmerman was badly crushed by a truck two years ago but had partly recovered and had been at work some of the time since. For several years he had charge of the sewers and water mains.

The American Legion of which Mr. Timmerman was an active member had charge of burial.
The Rev. Mr. Myhre of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, conducted the service assisted by the Rev. F. M. Garrett of the M. E. church.

John was born March 12, 1895 in Iowa, the son of John and Sophia Timmerman. He married Martha J Olson who was born November 18, 1899 Cedar, Mitchell, IA to Bernt C Olson and Helena Antonson. They were married April 7, 1920 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, IA. She died February 15, 1995.
