MRS. REX JEREMY , 43, OSAGE, BURIED, HUSBAND AND ONE DAUGHTER SURVIVE
Osage, Iowa – Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Champion Funeral home in charge of the Rev. John Kern of the Osage Baptist Church for Mrs. Rex Jeremy, 43, who died at the Nissen Hospital Monday afternoon after being burned at her home about noon when she poured kerosene on a fire in the cook stove, and the can exploded, saturating her with kerosene.
Ethel Babcock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Babcock, was born January 19, 1893 in McIntire. She attended high school in Osage but was graduated from the Little Cedar High School. After attending State Teachers College in Cedar Falls one year she taught school in Montana.
On March 21, 1913, she was married to Rex Jeremy in St. Paul. They lived in Montana a while and then moved to North Dakota. Nine years ago they moved to Osage where they have lived since.
Surviving are her husband and one daughter, Neva, a junior in high school; a sister, Mrs. Lee Lewis of Orchard; two brothers, Ray Babcock of Priest River, Idaho; and Earl Babcock of Nashua. Burial was in the local cemetery.

Obituary
Ethel Babcock, daughter of Frank and Neve Babcock, was born near McIntire, Iowa, on January 16, 1893. She grew to womanhood in the county and attended high school at Osage and Little Cedar, receiving her diploma from the Little Cedar School. She spent a year in college at Cedar Falls, Iowa and for a time taught school in Montana.
She was married to Rex Jeremy March 21, 1913, at St. Paul, Minnesota. They lived first in Montana and then in North Dakota, where Mr. Jeremy was a manager of lumber yards. Nine years ago they moved to Osage.
Mrs. Jeremy's entire interest was in her home, her husband and her only child, Neva, a high school junior. While she had suffered ill health for years, she was always able to be about, and at intervals had assisted in the Jackson Ready-to-Wear Store.
Five years ago she united with the Osage Baptist Church and has been a faithful member since.
She is survived by her husband and daughter; one sister, Mrs. Lee Lewis, Orchard; two brothers, Ray Babcock, Priest River, Idaho, and Earl Babcock, Nashua, Montana; also an uncle, Hugh Babcock, of Little Cedar.
Funeral services were conducted at the Champion Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by her pastor, Reverend John D. Kern, and burial was made in the Osage Cemetery.
