Funeral services for Mrs. Gunval Olson, 86, a former resident of St. Ansgar, who died in Waterloo, February 20, 1958, were held at the Hammel-Martin Funeral home in Clarksville with burial in the First Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar.
Karen Abrahamson Olson was born in Norway July 5, 1872, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Abrahamson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She came to America to make his home in 1901, and was married to Gunval Olson shortly thereafter. They made their home in the St. Ansgar community. Seven children were born to this union. Mrs. Olson was preceded in death by an infant son and her husband in 1932.
She is survived by one son and five daughters; Robert L. Olson of Austin, Minnesota; Alma Olson of Waterloo; Mrs. Kenneth Crowley of Clarksville; Mrs. Rene Taets of Osage; Mrs. Otto Everding of Nora Springs and Mrs. Fritz Hulshizer of St. Ansgar. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
