-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#1:

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - George Lubieno, 75, former resident of St. Ansgar, died Monday at his home in St. Paul, Minnesota following a two year illness. Funeral Thursday at 2 p.m. in Methodist church.

He leaves one daughter and two sons all residing in St. Paul.

Burial in East Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

[Waterloo Courier, Wednesday, May 30, 1945]

NOTE: The newspaper did spell the surname as LUBIENO, but we're sure it should be Lubiens.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTES:He was born Lubiens but must have changed the spelling on his last name to LUBINS. His Minnesota Death record, as well as his wife's and two sons all have that spelling on their Minnesota death record. Sons Lynn and Ross Lubins are spelled that way on SS death record. There isn’t a Social Sec. death record for Fred or his wife with either spelling.

He and his wife are listed as Lubiens in the Saint Ansgar Cemetery.
