Della Morrow was born on April 8, 1881, on a farm south of Saratoga, Iowa, in Howard county. She was the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Lockie, and had four brothers and four sisters.
She attended a rural school, which later became the Maple Leaf School. The family then moved to McIntire, Iowa, in Mitchell county. There she graduated in 1900. She taught rural schools in the area for a few years.
On October 7, 1903 she became the bride of Victor Morrow, at the home of her parents in McIntire. The couple lived in McIntire for a few years, and in 1907 they moved to LeRoy, Minnesota. While in McIntire, the couple owned a horse livery. They then sold that and purchased a livery in LeRoy. Later they sold the livery and opened the first gas station in LeRoy.
To this union were born two sons and a daughter. As of 1976, Mrs. Morrow had 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Della and Victor celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Lutheran Church in LeRoy, but before the couple's 60th wedding anniversary, Victor passed away -- on September 1, 1963.
Victor was a boy from New York, and attended church at McIntire. Della was the church organist and the romance blossomed. They first walked where they wanted to go, and later drove a team of broncos.
Della received a 65 year Eastern Star pin, and she had the privilege of pinning her daughter's 50 year pin.
Della was the second oldest member of the LeRoy Presbyterian church, where she was a faithful member before going to the Riceville Community Rest Home, where she was a resident in 1976.
Della died in April 1980 at the ripe old age of 99 years.
