Nels H. Nelson, the deceased was born in Ole Annix Parish of Wang, Valders, Norway, February 6th, 1826, was baptized March 16th, 1826, and confirmed June 28th, 1840.
On June 9th, 1850 he married Ingeborg Opdahl and together they emmigrated to Spring Prairie, Dane Co., Wisconsin,in the year of 1853, from there they moved in 1854 to Mitchell County, Iowa, settling near Carpenter, where they lived for about ten years at which time they moved to their present home where the deceased lived continuously until his death February 1, 1907.
The deceased at his death was nearly 81 years of age being laid to rest on his 81st birthday.
Of a family of 13 children his wife, six sons and three daughters and 21 grandchildren survive him. The funeral took place Wednesday, February 6 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Waldeland officiating at the U.N.L. church.
