Ingebor Opdahl was born in Valders, Norway, January 23, 1827, and baptized February 1st of the same year.
She was given in marriage on the ninth of June 1850 to N.H. Nelson. In the year 1853 they emigrated to Spring Prairie, Wis., and in the following year settled in Mitchell Co., Iowa. She died August 10th, 1916 on the old homestead north of St. Ansgar where she had spent fifty two years of her useful life.
A family of eight children, twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren survive her, also two sisters and a brother.
Their names are: Howard Nelson, Northwood, N.D.; Gilbert Nelson, Fargo, N.D.; Nels Nelson, Underwood, N.D.; Mrs. E.B. Bergan, DeForest, Wis.; I.C. Nelson, Minneapolis, Minn.; Andrew Nelson, Bucyrus, N.D.; Belle and Mary Nelson, St. Ansgar, Iowa. Her grandchild, Ida Tollefson, who since childhood has lived with her grandparents.
