September 30, 1915 -- October 28, 1975
Funeral services will be held on Friday,October 31, 1975 at 2 p.m. in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church for Mrs. Harold (Hedwig) Clayton, 60, who passed away on Octrober 28, 1975 at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, Minnesota, after an illness of approximately 5 1/2 months. The services will be conducted by Rev. B. Hinrichs.
Hedwig Johanna Hintz Clayton was born on September 30, 1915 on a farm south of Saratoga, Iowa. She was the only child of Anna Hintz and Emil Hintz.
On June 4, 1944, she was united in marriage to Harold Clayton in the Lutheran Church at Lime Springs.
Mrs. Clayton is survived by her husband, Harold, Riceville; her daughter, Mrs. William (Hazel) Hodges, Austin, Minnesota; two sons, David, Riceville, and Roger of Granger, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emil Hintz, on August 7, 1915, and her mother, Anna Johlas, on February 9, 1975; and her stepfather, Will Johlas, September 29, 1967.
Burial will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Riceville, with the Conway Funeral Home in cahrge of arrangements.
